Our Story
Bloom Hospitality & Catering is a family-owned and operated catering company in the heart of Springfield, Illinois. Gabi Thompson and John Huffman launched the business in May 2023. Gabi has more than two decades of experience in hospitality and management.
Bloom provides full-service off-site catering, from intimate meals to large banquets.
So, whether you are getting married, throwing a baby shower, or hosting a private dinner, Gabi and her team will create a delicious menu with a modern twist on American cuisine that works for you.
Bloom offers flexibility, a memorable experience, and client service that is second to none.

Gabi
Gabi launched Bloom Hospitality & Catering to honor her dad and create a legacy for his grandchildren. Gabi grew up in the hospitality business, spending every moment possible at the restaurant Scampy’s, owned by her mom and dad in Springfield, Illinois. Now, she has launched a full-service catering company.
John
John is an entrepreneur with an eye for numbers. He grew up in Rochester, Illinois, and now lives in Springfield.


Axel
Axel is Gabi and John’s much-loved dog. Axel keeps the whole family on their toes. Gabi has two children, Davin and Ivy who are learning the ropes and love to be involved in all things Bloom.
